Our Team & Partners
Conscious Creatives
At MJS, we make an effort to actively contribute to the creative industry, whilst also being mindful of our impact on the world through our creative work. We strive for continuous improvement as an ethical and socially conscious creative agency and welcome opportunities to learn, grow and improve.
-
We particularly believe in empowering and respectful representations of gender, race and minority groups. We're committed to challenging stereotypes and biases in our industry, through our social content and creative work. We aim to continuously improve the representation of people from all walks of life and include diversity in our work. We note this in our graphic representations of people, as well as during castings and general business practice.
-
Mariah is a proud member of The Aunties Committee, a group a support system that inspires, protects and champions women of all ages and backgrounds across creative industries.
She is also an active member of the Melbourne Creative Network and is always looking for new partnerships and opportunities to push the boundaries of what's possible. We've previously collaborated with photographers, stylists, models, videographers, designers, animators, podcasters, writers and even actors. We believe that by collaborating and working together, we can create a more vibrant and innovative creative community. Sharing our passions and skills is what makes the creative industry tick.
We also encourage junior professionals and university students to reach out for mentoring or internship programs. There's so much value in getting into the industry early and learning as much as possible, at MJS we often run mentoring programs which can be structured around the individual’s professional goals.
-
We take every opportunity to source eco-friendly materials for our day-to-day work and shoots. Although this is challenging, our aim is to use materials that are built to last and can be reused, reducing waste and minimising our carbon footprint. We frequently borrow props and thrift items, giving a second life to pre-existing materials.
As a team, we recognise the environmental impact of paper usage and strive to be as paperless as possible. We only print when necessary, opting for digital communication and storage methods to keep our business practices as green as possible.
-
At the end of each financial year, we donate a portion of our profits to charitable organizations which align with our values, particularly those which support girls’ and women's education, rights and opportunities in Australia. This is something Mariah is personally very passionate about. We aim to grow the portion of profits donated each year, based on business performance.
Charitable organisations that choose to work with MJS will also receive a discount on all services from MJS, excluding any hard costs from external suppliers. Discount percentages can be discussed case-by-case based on the work requirements and the charity’s current position. MJS will always do their best to help.
The Little Pink Book
MJS is where creativity meets collaboration! We are always on the lookout for talented individuals to join our community of passionate creatives. Whether you're a client service whiz, producer, photographer, videographer, graphic designer, motion designer, model, actor, studio owner, brand owner or anything in between, we want to hear from you!
We will always tap into our Little Pink Book when new projects arise, pairing the perfect team with the perfect project. Projects could be art for art’s sake (if you’re into that), or of course, client work.
Once we’ve filled our Little Pink Book with enough members, you'll have the opportunity to connect with other creatives at our events and expand your professional network.
